HOW ARE THE SEASONS STRUCTURED?
The UC Del Sol Girls Softball League is part of the USA Softball organization and follows its rules.   The year starts off in January with Spring Ball, which usually ends in late April.   Spring Ball sees the most participation from the girls and is reasonably competitive.    Teams are formed in January and each team plays approximately 10 to 12 games, with playoffs at the end of the season.

The next season is 'All Stars', which starts in May and ends in June, sometimes July.  This is the most competitive season, where assessments determine who makes the teams.   Each team will play in roughly 5 weekend tournaments and ends with divisional playoffs to determine which teams go to the state competition.

Finally, there is Fall Ball, which runs from September to November.  This season is generally less competitive and is geared toward girls looking to keep their skills sharp for the upcoming Spring Season.

WHAT DO I NEED TO PROVIDE?
The league supplies basic equipment, including batting helmets, bats, balls, and catcher’s gear; however, you may choose to purchase these on your own. Included in the registration fee are: uniform, socks, ASA registration, insurance, umpire fees, basic equipment, and the standard picture package.

WHERE, WHEN & WHAT DAYS ARE PRACTICES?
Each team manager has their own scheduled practice days/times/locations.  In general, Spring Ball teams practice 1 to 2 times a week with a Saturday game (and occasional midweek games), and All Star teams practice 2 to 3 times a week with weekend tournaments.  These tournaments generally provide 3 to 6 games for the team, dependent on how well the team plays.  Fall Ball teams usually practice once a week, with games on Sunday.

WHERE & WHEN DO WE PLAY GAMES?
UC Del Sol has two locations where home games may be played,  Standley Park and Hickman Fields. As the divisions 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U all play interleague games, there may also be games scheduled at fields throughout the city of San Diego.

Most divisions will have a game scheduled on each Saturday of the season, as well as a mid-week late afternoon/evening game. Field information is available here.
